Welcome! Joan Molloy Slack brings her art to many facets of her life. She is a fiber artist working primarily in “pictorial” felt-making, where fiber is used to “paint” 2-dimensional artwork. She is also ceramicist, working in a variety of ways with clay to create sculpture and pottery. She has been teaching for over 25 years, and offers art classes and workshops year-round. For the last 15 years she has been traveling and leading art related tours to Ireland, Scotland, France and Mexico.

Felt-making Autumn 2021  You may sign up for both classes for a full day of immersion on felt-making! Register by calling 715-550-0858, or

Introduction to Felt-making   In this class you will earn everything you need to create beautiful landscapes and design with fleece using needle felting. After creating some samplers and learning techniques, we will create a small felted landscape. No experience necessary.

The ART of Felt Making After an overview of the history of wool and its uses, we will learn the many ways to work with fleece and needle felting to create functional and decorative works of art. Students will create a sampler of different methods, then a colored wool landscape to utilize the techniques learned, as well as several other projects.

Authentic Travel and Tours    Connemara Connections      Ireland, Autumn 2019

Join us for a small group trip to the region of Connemara, on the wild west coast of Ireland. The trip will include history, hikes, art and archaeology as we explore hidden places, walk with local guides, and experience an in-depth look at a spectacular place. Bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the west, the inland areas are graced with the 12 Bens mountains, numerous loughs, green pastures and lively towns. There is a rich history in the region, which we will discover with local guides. Highlights will be:
